Sapphire Princess Cruise Review – A Journey from Singapore to Malaysia

Ahoy, fellow travel enthusiasts! I’m thrilled to share my enchanting experience aboard the Sapphire Princess cruise ship, a lavish cruise that whisked me away from the vibrant streets of Singapore to the lush shores of Malaysia. Buckle up, because this adventure has plenty of pools, delectable dining, and unforgettable moments!

Princess Cruises offers millions of guests each year the opportunity to immerse themselves in top destinations around the globe, aboard a fleet of 17 modern vessels.

Stepping onto the Sapphire Princess felt like entering a floating city filled with excitement. The moment I boarded, I was welcomed with warm smiles and lively music – setting the mood for a fabulous journey ahead.

This stunning atrium features a soaring ceiling, grand staircase, ornate chandeliers, and beautiful artwork, creating a luxurious atmosphere. The spacious design allows for easy movement between various decks and is often the hub of social activity.

In the Grand Lobby, guests can enjoy a variety of activities. It’s a popular spot for live musical performances, where talented musicians often entertain with soothing melodies while mingling with fellow travellers.

One of the best parts of my trip was exploring the collection of pools scattered across the ship. There are plenty of places to splash, relax, or soak up the sun.

Neptune Reef and Pool is the ultimate vibe! As the main big pool onboard,
it’s a great place to relax by the poolside, sipping on fruity cocktails while enjoying the live music.

Spend the day lounging by the pool and soaking up the sunshine, or take a dip in the pool before breakfast. The pool areas are spacious, with plenty of sun loungers to make sure guests are comfortable while enjoying the view.

There’s even a large screen for movie nights under the stars – what could be more magical?

In the middle of the ship, on deck 14 – Lido is the Calypso Reef & Pool. This is a large indoor pool, jacuzzi pools and can therefore be enjoyed in wet or cooler weather, too.

On the aft of the ship, you can find the Splash Pools and Oasis Hot Tubs. These pools are smaller than the Neptune’s and Calypso Reef & Pools.

I woke up early and watch the sun rises from the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I had a quick dip in the pool and settled into a cozy lounge chair and enjoy a beautiful start of the day.

Theses pool are surrounded by sun loungers, perfect for relaxing and taking a quick dip, and just chilling while watching the cruise ship distance on the ocean.

Foodies, rejoice! Every meal on the Sapphire Princess is an occasion to celebrate. The variety of dining options satisfied my cravings at every turn. With an array of included dining options and speciality restaurants, you are sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds.

Savoy Dining Room offers gourmet dining under shimmering chandeliers. Each night, a new menu features dishes from around the world—every bite was a culinary delight!

The afternoon tea session is a must try where savoury and sweet treats are served daily.

For a more casual vibe, Horizon Court serves up a buffet that changed daily. I reveled in the many flavors, from mouthwatering Asian stir-fry to freshly grilled seafood.

Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria on Sapphire Princess Cruise is a delightful dining venue that embodies the warmth and charm of an authentic Italian restaurant. The setting is designed to create a cosy and intimate atmosphere, featuring soft lighting, rich wooden accents, and elegant decor that transports guests to a traditional trattoria in Italy.

The intimate layout allows for private conversations and a relaxed dining experience, perfect for couples or small groups looking to enjoy a special evening.

The menu at Sabatini’s is a celebration of Italian cuisine, offering a variety of dishes that highlight fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. Guests can indulge in a selection of antipasti to start, including bruschetta, calamari, and a cheese platter. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the homemade pasta, with the lobster pasta being a standout dish. It’s crafted with care, featuring succulent lobster meat tossed in a rich and flavorful sauce, often served over perfectly cooked noodles that showcase the chef’s skill.

In addition to the pasta, Sabatini’s offers a range of entrées, including classic dishes like osso buco, veal parmesan, and seafood risotto, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The restaurant also emphasizes fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables, making each dish a celebration of Italian culinary traditions.

To complete the meal, guests can choose from an array of decadent desserts. Options might include tiramisu, panna cotta, and cannoli, each crafted to provide a sweet ending to the dining experience. The dessert presentation is as beautiful as the flavours, making for a visually appealing finish.

After long, exciting days, retreating to my cabin felt like stepping into a cosy haven.

The Sky Suites aboard the Sapphire Princess offer an even greater level of luxury. With plush bedding and private balconies, you can enjoy the beauty of the open seas without leaving your room.

For those looking for a bit of extra pampering, the Sky Suites come with complimentary spa treatments to ensure you are completely relaxed and refreshed. Waking up to the gentle sound of waves was a dream come true.

There was never a dull moment on my cruise! The Sapphire Princess has ample activities, including dance classes, art auctions, Lotus Spa, and Princess Theatre that showcases spectacular performances to keep guests of all ages entertained. Do check the daily activities and plan your favourite activities accordingly.

My round trip from Singapore to Malaysia on the Sapphire Princess was nothing short of a spectacular getaway.
