My lunch experience was a delightful journey through a culinary landscape rich in Portuguese influences, set against the backdrop of this vibrant city.

The restaurant boasts a modern yet cosy atmosphere, with warm lighting and elegant decor that reflects the fusion of traditional and contemporary Portuguese styles. Large windows offer nice natural lighting and views of the streets outside, creating a lively ambience that enhances the dining experience.

The open kitchen also features the restaurant, where you see the live actions of the chef with a backdrop of blue and white Portuguese ceramic plates.

As I settled in, the tantalising aroma of spices and fresh ingredients filled the air, setting the stage for what was to come. The menu featured a variety of dishes, each echoing the rich heritage of Portuguese cuisine, which is known for its bold flavours and aromatic profiles.

The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to share recommendations. Enjoying each dish while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere made for a memorable lunch experience. Andaz Kitchen Macau truly captures the essence of Portuguese cuisine, offering a delightful blend of flavours that left me eagerly anticipating my meal.

I began with the “Camarão ao Alhinho” – Garlic Prawns with Coriander, Chilli, and Garlic 辣椒蒜蓉香菜炒虾. The prawns were perfectly cooked, tender and succulent, with the garlic providing a robust flavour that was beautifully balanced by the freshness of the coriander and the heat from the chilli. Each bite was a burst of flavour, showcasing the skilful preparation that made this dish a standout.

Next, I savoured the “Pica-Pau” – Veal Tenderloin with Mustard and Pickle Sauce 小牛里脊肉配酸瓜粒芥末酱. This dish was a delightful revelation, with the veal tenderloin cooked to perfection, its richness complemented by the tangy mustard and the sharpness of pickles. The combination created a harmonious blend that was both comforting and exciting, encapsulating the essence of Portuguese culinary traditions.

My lunch at Andaz Kitchen Macau continued to unfold as a delightful exploration of Portuguese flavours, with each dish presenting a unique story that highlighted the chef’s creativity and culinary expertise.

The next dish, “Polvo Grelhado” – Grilled Octopus with Potato Foam 烤章鱼配马铃薯泡沫, was a stunning presentation that immediately caught my eye. The octopus was grilled to perfection, boasting a smoky char that added depth to its tender flesh. Nestled on a bed of airy potato foam, the dish was a masterclass in texture and flavour. The foam was light and creamy, providing a subtle backdrop that allowed the natural flavours of the octopus to shine through. Each bite was a harmonious blend of the ocean and earth, perfectly balanced and utterly satisfying.

Following this, I indulged in the “Frango Piri Piri” – Andaz Chilli Roasted Chicken with Homemade French Fries 安达仕特色辣酱烤鸡配自制薯条. The chicken was marinated in a signature chilli sauce that gave it a vibrant kick while retaining its juiciness. The skin was crispy and golden, delivering a satisfying crunch with every bite. The homemade French fries were the perfect accompaniment, golden and crispy outside while remaining fluffy inside. They were ideal for soaking up the remaining chilli sauce, making this dish a comforting yet exciting experience.

To complete my meal, I opted for dessert, the “Fatia Dourada” – Deep Fried Brioche with Port Wine Reduction, Lemon Curd, and Citrus Tartare 葡式西多士配波特酒、柠檬酱及柑橘塔塔酱. This dessert was a delightful blend of sweet and tangy, with the brioche being decadently fried to a crisp golden brown. The richness of the brioche was beautifully complemented by the sweet and slightly tart port wine reduction and the refreshing citrus tartare. The lemon curd added a zesty brightness that tied the dish together, making it a perfect finale to my lunch.

Throughout the meal, the chef’s attention to detail and passion for Portuguese cuisine were evident in every dish. The creative combinations and high-quality ingredients showcased the rich culinary heritage of the region while also bringing a modern twist that made each dish memorable.

The experience was not just about the food; it was a celebration of culture, creativity, and the joy of dining, leaving me with a lasting impression of Andaz Kitchen Macau as a true gem in the city’s vibrant culinary scene.
